Getting the schedules out early for everyone. One new film at Malverne and Bellmore is holding. Black Friday is traditionally the biggest moviegoing day of the year and that has held true each year in our cinemas.

“The Homesman” Rated R, 2 hours 2 minutes. Western drama about three women traveling cross-country who enlist the help of a drifter. Starring Tommy Lee Jones (who also Directed), Hilary Swank, Meryl Streep, Hailee Steinfeld, John Lithgow, James Spader and Miranda Otto. Distributed by Roadside Attractions.

A late-in-life whirlwind romance with a little Fellini and “La Dolce Vita” thrown into the mix. Distributed by Millennium Entertainment.

“Whiplash” Rated R, 1 hour 46 minutes. Andrew Neyman, played by Miles Teller of “Divergent” fame, is a young jazz drummer intent on becoming the greatest there is. His teacher, played by J.K. Simmons, is relentless in his pursuit to make him the best but that could either make him or break him. Co-starring Paul Reiser whom we haven’t seen on the big or little screen in quite a while. Sony Classics.

On Black Friday, November 28th there is a free screening of “The LEGO Movie” sponsored by Santa Claus and the Bellmore Chamber of Commerce. Santa arrives by fire truck at 11am and he usually has candy canes for all the children and holds wish court on our stage just before the movie. Feel free to join, everyone!! If you miss this one, the Malverne Cinema hosts the same movie in conjunction with the Malverne Merchants & Professional Association on Saturday, December 6th. Times to be announced.

On Friday, December 5th @ 8pm, Friend Entertainment and the Bellmore Movies are proud to present the live tribute concert “Fleetwood Macked” – a real tribute to that wonderful group Fleetwood Mac. Plaza Theatrical Productions for children is back on our stage this weekend with “Pinkalicious” on Saturday, November 29th. Performance time is 11am.

For their mainstage presentation, Plaza Theatrical Productions will be offering “Plaza Suite” scheduled for January 25th and February 1st of 2015.

Psychic Medium Robert Hansen is returning to our Malverne Cinema on Thursday, December 11th, but if you miss him you can catch him the following Thursday, December 18th at our Bellmore Movies. His readings begin @ 7:30pm. Tickets are now on sale at the cinemas directly from the management.
