As the Academy Awards draws near and hopefully the weather warms up, we want to take this time to announce an addition to our Theater Family.  Beginning on March 6th we will begin operating the North Shore Towers Cinema at 27240 Grand Central Parkway, Floral Park.  Although sometimes the papers list it as being in Little Neck.  We’re excited about this new venture and hope to bring both quality films and live events there. 
 
This week we have a Q&A with producer Nancy Spielberg (yes, Steven’s sister) on her new film “Above And Beyond” Unrated, 87 minutes.  Documentary about retired Jewish American pilots who volunteered to help fight for Israel’s independence in 1948.

Turner (played by Timothy Spall), an eccentric British painter who once had himself tied to the mast of a ship so that he could paint a storm.  His wild life, that is filled with adventure and brothels, will unfold before you.  Directed by Mike Leigh and nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design and Best Score!!

The next film scheduled for the NY Film Critics Series will be this Tuesday, February 24th and flying in will be “Bluebird” starring John Slattery and Amy Morton.  Log onto   http://nyfilmcriticsseries.com/   for more info about the series.  Our pre-shows now start @ 7pm and the film itself begins @ 7:30pm.  You can purchase tickets in advance on their website but there will be a convenience fee, or you can just purchase tickets at the box office the night of the screening.

Plaza Theatrical Productions is on our stage this weekend with “Shrek” on Friday &  Saturday, Fe @ 11am and Sunday @ 1pm.  Don’t forget your camera’s for the kodak moments out in our lobby immediately following the show.  
For their mainstage presentation, Plaza Theatrical Productions will be presenting“Man Of La Mancha” for 3 shows on Sundays beginning in April.  So Think Spring!!!
