“The Lady In The Van” Rated PG-13, 1 hour 44 minutes. This film tells the true story of the relationship between Alan Bennett (who wrote the script) and the title character Miss Shepherd (played by Dame Maggie Smith) who ‘temporarily’ parked her van in his London driveway and proceeded to live there for 15 years!!

During the Holocaust, a Jewish prisoner at the Auschwitz concentration camp is forced to work the grim task of burning the dead. He discovers the body of his son and tries desperately to find a rabbi to give the child a proper traditional Jewish burial.

“The Revenant” Rated R, 2 hours 36 minutes. Nominated for 12 Academy Awards!! This Best Picture nominee stars Best Actor nominee Leonardo DiCaprio and Best Supporting Actor nominee Tom Hardy. During a fur trading expedition in the 1820s, a frontiersman is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead in the wilderness by his hunting team. He must then utilize his survival skills to find a way back home to his family. Directed by nominee Alejandro G. An Irish immigrant (Best Actress nominee Saoirse Ronan) in 1950s Brooklyn falls for a sweet Italian plumber (Emory Cohen) but faces temptation from another man (Domhnall Gleeson) when she returns to her homeland for a visit. Also starring Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters and also nominated for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.

The New York Film Critics Series is back this week on Thursday, February 11th with “Tumbledown” – a romantic comedy starring Jason Sudeikis, Rebecca Hall, Blythe Danner, Joe Manganiello and Griffin Dunne. The running time is 1 hour 45 minutes and the film is rated R. Showtime is 7:30pm. The pre-show (that begins at 7pm) and post-show interviews occur elsewhere and not at our Cinema, just to be clear. Plaza Theatrical Productions is letting loose Disney’s “Aladdin” on our Bellmore stage beginning this Saturday, February 6th and again on Saturdays the 13th, 20th & 27th plus the school vacation week of the 15th – 19th. All shows are @ 11am. There is also a Sunday performance on February 21st @ 12pm.

There is one Sunday performance of “Charlotte’s Web” on February 28th @ 12pm.
