Hi All:
Last week I wrote an intro welcoming us all to Springtime but this week it feels like I lied and we’re still in Winter!!
This Spring-but-feels-like-Winter week we have one new film at our Malverne and some changes at our North Shore Towers and a holdover at our Bellmore.
We’ll start with our Malverne Cinema first:
“Demolition”  Rated R, 1 hour 41 minutes.  Davis Mitchell (Jake Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash.  Despite pressure from his father-in-law Phil (Chris Cooper) to pull it together, Davis continues to unravel.  Also starring Naomi Watts.

“Eye In The Sky”  Rated R, 1 hour 42 minutes.  Thriller starring Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul, Jeremy Northam and Alan Rickman in his final live-action film role.  Colonel Katherine Powell leads a secret drone mission to destroy a terrorist group living in a safehouse in Nairobi, Kenya…but a 9-year-old girl entering the kill zone causes complications.

“Miracles From Heaven”  Rated PG, 1 hour 49 minutes.  Family drama based on the incredible true story of a miracle happening to a 10-year-old girl with a rare incurable disease after a freak accident.  Starring Jennifer Garner, Martin Henderson, Kylie Rogers, John Carroll Lynch and Queen Latifah.

At our North Shore Towers Cinema we are proud to offer the following three films:
“Remember”  Rated R, 95 minutes.  Christopher Plummer and Martin Landau play Zev and Max, who both survived Auschwitz and are both now living in the same nursing home.  With Max’s wheelchair-bound guidance, Zev (who is dealing with the recent death of his wife and memory loss) sets out on a mission to find the former Nazi responsible for the deaths of their family members.

“Marguerite”  Rated R, 2 hours 7 minutes.  In French with English Subtitles.  In 1921 France, a wealthy woman follows her passion to sing in front of an audience but she doesn’t know she’s out of tune and no one tells her how bad she is.  A sweet movie about sour notes!!

“I Saw The Light”  Rated R, 2 hours 4 minutes.  Biopic about country music legend Hank Williams, portrayed by Tom Hiddleston.  Co-starring Elizabeth Olsen and David Krumholtz.

Coming on May 6th to the North Shore Towers Cinema “Look At Us Now Mother!” an exciting new documentary that explores mother daughter relationships.  We loved it and booked it immediately.  Look for the announcement for the Q & A with the filmmaker Gayle Kirschenbaum in an upcoming email.

Starting April 22nd “A Hologram For The King” the new Tom Hanks Film!
Plaza Theatrical Productions will be performing the timeless musical “The Little Mermaid” when Ariel swims in on Saturday, April 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th @ 11am.  She also swims in for a performance onSunday, April 10th @ 12pm.  If you miss her don’t worry…she’ll be swimming back when there’s spring break vacation beginning on April 25th right through to the 29th.
Plaza Theatrical Productions will be bringing back the musical classic “Camelot” on Sunday, April 17th & 24th as well as on May 1st, with all showtimes @ 2pm.  Tickets for this or for the children’s program may be obtained by calling 516-599-6870 or by logging onto www.plazatheatrical.com.
