The next film in the NY Film Critics Series is scheduled for July 7th and it is Robin Williams’ final film – “Boulevard”.  For more info about the film or the series log onto http://nyfilmcriticsseries.com/.  Our pre-shows start @ 7pm and the film begins @ 7:30pm.  Tickets can be purchased in advance on their website but there will be a convenience fee, or you can just purchase tickets at the box office the night of the screening.  Tickets for these advance screenings are $18 per person.

There is a free movie event again this week but this time it’s at the East Meadow Public Library – this Tuesday, June 9th from 6pm to 9:30pm sponsored by the East Meadow Public Library and the Long Island Film/TV Foundation and hosted by ME!  I’ve programmed two separate film blocks entitled “Best Of The Fest” from our 2014 film festival.  All short films, with the first block presented @ 6pm and the second block presented @ 8pm.  Participating filmmakers and yours truly will host a Q&A immediately following each film block.  This is our 4th year offering this free program.  All are welcome!!

The North Shore Towers Cinema is located in the center building – called Beaumont – of a trio of buildings you see off the Lakeville Road South Exit 25 off the Northern State Parkway.  It is located just a few hundred feet from the Nassau County border in Floral Park in Queens.  In fact, it’s believed that one of the golf holes in their beautiful golf course is actually in Nassau County.  That’s how close it is!!

As the Academy Awards draws near and hopefully the weather warms up, we want to take this time to announce an addition to our Theater Family.  Beginning on March 6th we will begin operating the North Shore Towers Cinema at 27240 Grand Central Parkway, Floral Park.  Although sometimes the papers list it as being in Little Neck.  We’re excited about this new venture and hope to bring both quality films and live events there. 
 
This week we have a Q&A with producer Nancy Spielberg (yes, Steven’s sister) on her new film “Above And Beyond” Unrated, 87 minutes.  Documentary about retired Jewish American pilots who volunteered to help fight for Israel’s independence in 1948.
