The next film scheduled for the NY Film Critics Series will be “The Water Diviner” starring Russell Crowe showing this Thursday, April 23rd. He then sets out, walking at first, to a neighboring state to collect his winnings. Will Forte (of “SNL” fame), June Squibb and Stacy Keach are his co-stars. We have the honor at our Malverne Cinema of being the only theatre selected on Long Island to participate in the new New York Film Critics Series. Tickets are $18 dollars each for this once a month series. These films will all be shown only once and all will not have been shown to the public anywhere prior to this event. If you have cell phones, the simulcast does accept questions tweeted to them as long as it is a live simulcast. However, this show is not live. It will have been taped the evening prior. As far as The Oscars this past Sunday, we feel it was one of the best broadcasts in a long time. All the recipients were eloquent and appreciative and Ellen was just a joy to watch.

We have the honor at our Malverne Cinema of being the only theatre selected on Long Island to participate in the new New York Film Critics Series. Tickets are $18 dollars each for this once a month series. These films will all be shown only once and all will not have been shown to the public anywhere prior to this event. If you have cell phones, the simulcast does accept questions tweeted to them. Advance ticket sales will go on sale beginning the Friday before the next screening.
