This week there are three new films at the Malverne Cinema, one will be shown on two screens and, one new film for the Bellmore Movies beginning on 7/4. Here goes:

“To Rome With Love” Rated R, 1 hour 52 minutes. On 2 screens!!! Starring the director himself, Woody Allen along with Roberto Benigni, Judy Davis, Alec Baldwin, Penélope Cruz and Jesse Eisenberg. Keeping his promise of 1 film release per year, here is Woody’s latest.  Distributed by Sony Classics.

“Moonrise Kingdom” Rated PG-13, 94 minutes. During the summer of 1965, two 12-year-olds form a pact and run away from camp. Perhaps in more ways than one. Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman also star. Directed by Wes Anderson.  Distributed by Focus Features.

Psychic Medium Robert Hansen is back at our Bellmore Movies on July 25th @ 7:30pm. Doors open @ 7pm for early seating. Tickets are available at the box office. Bring tissues!

Another event we are hosting at the Bellmore Movies is the 15th year for the Long Island International Film Festival. July 12th kicks off the first set of film blocks that continue until the end of the festival on July 19th. Tickets are available at the box office or by going online at www.ovationtix.com and putting the event title in the search box. There is a convenience fee charged online but of course, not at the box office. Audience participation in voting and the Q&A’s that follow the film blocks add to the experience.

“The Artist”  Rated PG-13, 1 hour 40 minutes.  A silent black-and-white film like from the good old days.  Music to your ears!  Starring Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Penelope Ann Miller, Bérénice Bejo, James Cromwell and Missi Pyle.  1927 Hollywood with talkies on their way in, silent actors are left with decisions to either get with the program or end their careers.  On 2 screens!!  Distributed by The Weinstein Company.
