This week we have two new films at our Malverne Cinema and one of them is on two screens. Plus our Bellmore has a new film too.
Here goes with Malverne first:
“The Grand Budapest Hotel” Rated R, 1 hour 40 minutes. Wes Anderson is back with a cast that is huge! Let me name a few: Ralph Fiennes, Tom Wilkinson, Bob Balaban, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Saoirse Ronan, F. “Philomena” Rated PG-13, 1 hour 35 minutes. Starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. A 2009 BBC investigative book is brought to the screen. When she was very young, Philomena had a child out of wedlock and her Irish-Catholic family forced her to put him up for adoption and the baby was sent to the United States. Years later, after moving on with her life, she meets up with a BBC reporter and tells him her story.  Distributed by The Weinstein Company.

The next screening of the NY Film Critics Series features the unreleased “Breathe In” from the Cohen Media Group starring Guy Pearce, Amy Ryan, Felicity Jones and Kyle MacLachlan. It is scheduled for this Tuesday, March 18th @ 7:30 and tickets are now on sale at our Box office. Log onto for more info about this new film.
Tickets are $18 per person for this once a month film series. Log onto for further information about the series. This week there will not be a live simulcast, but a one-day delay. Most other theatres are hosting this on Tuesday the 25th but we have an exclusive for the 18th. If you have a question you’d like to ask about the film prior to viewing it (check out the above listed imdb website for film info), I can forward it and perhaps they might answer it on the Monday night taping of the pre or after-show. That would be a hoot!

On Saturday, March 15th @ 11am, follow the yellow brick road and come see “The Wizard Of Oz” – an enchanting live play for the whole family to enjoy brought to us by Plaza Theatrical Productions. Additional shows are scheduled for the next two Saturdays.

Psychic Medium Robert Hansen will be back at our Malverne Cinema on Tuesday, April 22nd & at our Bellmore Movies a little earlier on Thursday, April 10th. Doors open @ 7pm and his readings begin @ 7:30. Tickets now on sale at our box offices. Admission is $30 per person. Tissues not included.
